FAQ
What maintenance does the JM14 require?
Regular maintenance includes:
- Visual inspection before each use
- Cleaning of the fuel filter every 10 operating hours
- Inspection of all fuel lines and connections monthly
- Lubrication of bearings according to the schedule in the user manual
- Annual inspection of the turbine blades and combustion chamber
Is JM14 suitable for classroom demonstrations?
JM14 was designed with educational settings in mind. It can be built indoor but we don't recommend operating it in a classroom setting.
Operating a jet engine requires:
- Adequate ventilation
- Proper safety barriers
- Hearing protection for observers
- Adherence to safety protocols
- Adult supervision and proper training for the operator
Please refer to the safety notice for more safety recommendations
Can children operate the JM14?
No. JM14 is not a toy and should only be operated by adults with proper training and understanding of the safety protocols. Children may observe demonstrations or control RC vehicles under close adult supervision while maintaining a safe distance from the unit.
What's the main difference between JM14 and JM50?
JM50 is harder to build offering you more knowledge on the engine building side compared to application side. JM14 is easier to build and offers the possibility to experiment with electronics and application.
